Tomorrow – The West Highland Way!

I’m nervous. Tomorrow morning at 1:00 a.m. Rob and I start the 95-mile West Highland Way here in Scotland.

It’s shorter than the other 32 100s I’ve finished. It’s less cumulative climb than Massanutten. We have only about 5.5 hours of dark here in the north. And I’ve run a 110-mile race losing two nights of sleep before. No real reason to be nervous, right?

It’s probably the weather. It will be cold and it looks rainy. Rain here is just plain intimidating, especially combined with the wind blowing unchecked across the moors.

I want to enjoy it, soak in the scenery, and run well. I hope like crazy that the weather cooperates but the forecast doesn’t look good.

Wish us luck!

Good luck for the WHW. Sounds like you might be going to have some typical Scottish Summer – hope not. Hope it goes well and you enjoy it.

Good luck on the WHW. Sounds like a great time, never done a 100 before 34 is my long but hope to get there someday. Missed meeting you at the Chattooga 50k although seen you on the trails I am sure.
Enjoy the race and run strong.
    God Bless
